On June 4, 2026, Toronto Region Educational Services attended the North Bendale Public School Fun Fair with team members Rohil, Varsha, Shivangi, and Tharukshika. Together, they hosted interactive LEGO activities, spoke with families about TRES programs and summer camps, and introduced students to volunteer opportunities.

The event was a strong outreach opportunity for the team, resulting in 43 parents and attendees providing their email addresses or phone numbers to learn more about TRES. Rohil shared that children were especially excited about the prizes, with the dog plushie quickly becoming the most popular option. The team also connected with a high school student who was actively searching for volunteer opportunities and provided him with the relevant websites and registration information. Although the team did not reach its goal of 60 contacts, Rohil felt that everyone “did a great job” and promoted the summer camp programs to the best of their ability.

Varsha enjoyed showing children different ways to code and move the LEGO robot. Their excitement made the experience especially rewarding, and she also had engaging conversations with teachers who believed their students would enjoy similar robotics opportunities. Varsha shared that it was rewarding to interact with the staff, children, and parents at North Bendale while helping to create “a fun and engaging environment.” Through teaching robotics, supporting LEGO Art activities, and speaking with parents about available programs, she was also able to strengthen her communication and teaching skills.

For Shivangi, the event provided several meaningful opportunities to connect with the community. She enjoyed speaking with two seniors who were curious and encouraging about the booth, as well as meeting students and parents who directly asked about volunteer opportunities and summer camps. She described the North Bendale Public School Fun Fair as “a great time,” as it allowed her to share TRES’s mission, raise awareness about its programs, and work alongside her team to provide a meaningful experience for attendees.

Tharukshika especially enjoyed speaking with children and helping them learn through the activities. She described the event as “very engaging and enjoyable,” highlighting the opportunity to meet new people and help children explore their interests while learning something new.

Overall, the North Bendale Public School Fun Fair gave TRES a valuable opportunity to connect with Toronto families, promote its educational and volunteer programs, and create an engaging experience through hands-on LEGO activities. The team’s outreach, teaching, and collaboration helped make the event both enjoyable and impactful for attendees.
